My Inspiration To This Book
Inspiration is a funny thing; you never know where it is going to come from or how hard it will grab you. Sometimes you ignore it and let a good idea pass bye, doing nothing about it. Sometimes you take notice and do something about it. I always knew I wanted to be a writer but was looking for a subject matter that truly inspired me. Nothing really caught my attention until one day I was watching episode #725 of the Joe Rogan Podcast with Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson. There they laid out the physical evidence of a cataclysmic event so strong that it had the power to destroy an entire civilization. I was hooked. From there I did years of research finding out all I could about the younger and older dryas climate events. It was from that research that my story evolved.
Two shows really helped me keep going were: The Joe Rogan Experience podcast and the Dave Ramsey show. Both shows are ripe with inspirational quotes and stories of people who through hard work changed their life's trajectory for the better. They both suggested self-help books that helped me stay motivated to setting and finishing lifelong goals that I had previously given up on. It is another goal of mine to one day do both of those shows, they helped me so much. One day after doing their shows I hope that my story will inspire someone else to finish one of their lifelong goals.
